Are you looking for ways to increase community interaction around your blog? Follow these 5 fool-proof tips to boost your audience, encourage collaboration and stand out within the blogging community:

Be consistent. Set a schedule to post on a regular basis. The more frequently you post, the more opportunities you will have to draw in new audience members and be selected for promotional placement in newsletters.

Get involved. Extend your reach by interacting with fellow community members outside of your blog. Participate in group discussions, host Featured Discussions and make connections.

Build relationships. Network with other bloggers by frequently supporting their blogs with insightful comments. By collaborating with others on their ideas, chances are they will be much more inclined to collaborate on your own.

Get personal. Give readers variety by blending professional editorials with personal workplace experiences. Your audience will subscribe to your blog based on the content’s topical focus, but will choose to stick around because they can identify with you and the content you provide.

Commit to your blog. Growing an audience to critical mass takes time, patience, perseverance and, most of all, dedication. If you prove yourself as a source of continually credible and identifiable information, your body of work will give community members due reason to subscribe.

Get Website traffic

The secret to getting lots of website traffic isnt really a secret at all, sure there are tons of little tweaks and tricks to irk out more views than your competition. But if you have researched your approach correctly, you shouldn’t have insurmountable competition.

The trick to getting website traffic is to show up nice and high in search engine results for a well researched keyword or combination of words.

The easiest way to ensure this is to have lots and lots of backlinks.

There is lots of confusion about how to get a backlink and what constitutes a backlink, its not hard, you must be overthinking!

A backlink is quite simply a link that leads from somewhere else “Back” to your site, article, hub, blog or lense. The only rule is it should be coming from a a site outside of the domain that you are linking to.

There are other considerations to work on over time..you want dofollow links and you want links from sites with high PR. But if you have zero, nadda, none backlinks than any backlink is going to help you.

I will give you some resources to understand those concepts better in a moment, but first Ill cut to the chase. You can make your own backlinks and you can earn from them! We are not talking riches, but 20-30 a month from each source, plus the backlink is a pretty good opportunity.

This doesnt mean you should forget search engine optimization and other seo tips, it just mean that developing your first ten backlinks is easy and you can earn money online directly in the process

When you are monetizing via a google pay per click model, or using pay per click advertising or pay per click marketing increased traffic equals increased clicks equals increased revenue..so do it!

Cutting to the Chase: Sites that pay you to create your own backlinks!
Xomba.com

I discovered Xomba almost a year ago, it seems like a Hubpages, Associated Content, write articles for money type site (because it is) and was quickly put off by the interface and content.

A week ago, I went back to the site after reading about some other users success stories. A person I trusted claimed $30.00 in earnings from 80 links followed by $50.00 in earnings the following month from a total of 110 backlinks.

Xomba has a choice of Xombytes – which are short articles, or xomblurbs, which are nothing more than a link, a title and a short description.

In 1 week, I submitted 50 bookmarks, I have received 300 clickthroughs to my articles and $2.50 in direct earnings. The Xomba site reports 900 views to my submissions.

For the two hours max I spent I feel the returns will be enormous.

Xomba pays via an adsense impression sharing system, you can track and view your earnings via URL channels in adsense.
SheToldMe.com

I have been a member of this site for a little over 3 months, this site is another example of quite an ugly interface, that initially turned me off. I actually outsourced the backlink process in order to catch up with my backlog of hubs. I noticed rather quickly that the site was indexed very fast. My earnings via adsense have only been around 1.00 per month but the links generate around 600 page views to my hubs in a month.

Although, Adsense has only generated 1.00 per month, shetoldme also allows you to get revenue through the Chitika program, Chitika revenue has been almost .50 per day! I now use chitika on all my sites as it can be used in conjunction with adsense.
I do recommend you sign up with Chitika

RedGage.com

At this point, I am very new to the redgage program. Redgage does not use an impression style program to pay for backlinks, it has its own algorithm for computing revenue per page views. When you reach $25, they send you a pre-paid visa card all further earnings are sent to this card. They seem to be fond of giving out random bonuses for submitted content. many new users are reporting earnings of 150.00 in a month dues to random bonuses. This service seems to have a good following with the Squidoo crowd.

In 2 hours, I have made .05 cents in page view earnings for 8 submitted backlinks!

TagFoot.com

Tagfoot doesnt directly fall in the same model. It allows you to bookmark and earn from ALL your bookmarks, so if you have a folder full of your own articles, than they are eligible to be earned from also. Tagfoot is an actual community and in order to be eligible to earn from the site you need to reach the ProFoot level.

As I am not a Profoot, I do not have personal experience about earning potential just yet. I joined almost 8 months ago but just learned about the revenue options recently. I have several hundred bookmarks so I am looking forward to discovering what options I have.

Robots.txt is a special file which is located in the root of each server which is a plan text file which allows the administrator of a website to define which web content need to be allowed and disallowed for the bot which visitors their website.

All major search engine like Google, Yahaoo and MSN agrees to the Robots Exclusion Protocol. There are several elements that every website owner need to understand for a easing crawling of their website. Following are the top 10 common mistakes to be avoided while create a robots.txt file.

1. Adding robots.txt not under the root directory – This is one of the common mistake webmaster do. They upload the robots.txt file at the wrong place it must reside in the root of the domain and must be named “robots.txt”. A robots.txt file uploaded in subdirectory is not a valid one since blots check for robots.txt file only in the root of the domain name.

User-agent: *
Disallow:

2. Wrong syntax in robots.txt – Another explanation is that the Webmaster used the wrong syntax when creating the robots.txt. Therefore, always double check the robots.txt file using tools like Robots.txt Checker
Here is an example

User-agent: *
Disallow: private.html

We advise you to start a file/directory name with a leading slash char (Example: /private.html).

3. Adding comment at the end of the sentence instead of at the beginning – If you wish to include comments in your robots.txt file, you should precede them with a # sign like this:

# Here are my comments about this entry.
User-agent: *
Disallow:

4. Empty robots.txt file almost like not having one – If you have created a robots.txt file under your root directory and there is nothing in it, then it is similar like not having one. Because nothing is disallowed or no User-agent is given, everything is allowed for every bots.

5. Blocking the pages which you need to get indexed – If you are blocking spider bots and pages using robots.txt you should have thorough understanding of the syntax to be used any mistake can cause you huge problem with the spiderbots.

6. URL’s Paths are case sensitive – URL paths are often case sensitive, so be consistent with the site capitalization WARNING! Many robots and webservers are case-sensitive. So this path will not match any root-level folders named private or PRIVATE.

7. Misspelled robots/user agent names – SpiderBots will ignore mispelled User-Agent names. Check out your raw server log to find User-Agent name which you need to be blocked. Check out UserAgentString.com for a list of User Agent name.

8. Don’t add all the files in one single line – Some of the common mistake is adding all the files under on disallow.
For example

User-agent: *
Disallow: /private/ /images/ /javascript/

This is a wrong syntax and robots will not understand this format. The correct syntax is given below.

User-agent: *
Disallow: /private/
Disallow: /images/
Disallow: /javascript/

9. No allow command in robots.txt – There is only one command that is Disallow: and there is no command called Allow: So if you want to allow the bots to visit the page just don’t add the files.

10. Missing the colon – Missing the colon in Disallow and User-agent entry. Here is one of the example of a missing colon entry.

#This is a wrong entry
User-agent: googlebot
Disallow /

#The correct entry
User-agent: googlebot
Disallow: /

Please leave your comment if you find any other common mistakes which need to be avoided while generating a robots.txt file. Also below are few robots.txt useful resources and tools.

Twitter is also a great way to make yourself and your web presence more visible to a
broader audience in your niche, helps you find link exchange opportunities, and get to know other
interesting people.

Every time you “tweet” (send a message of a 140 characters) on twitter you will get an
average response (a user clicking on a link in your tweet) of about 2% or 2 clicks per
100. These numbers may be slightly different for you.

Sign Up With Twitter

Sign up with Twitter @ http://twitter.com/

-Use a user name that includes your niche keyword preferably.

-click settings and give yourself a name. I used mydomain.com

-More Info URL: URL to your website, blog or other site.

-One Line Bio: be descriptive and interesting (you only have 140 characters)

-Location: this should be obvious

-Click on the pictures tab and upload a picture of your pretty self preferably.

-Click the design tab and play around with it a little bit. Upload a background image if
you like. Make it look a little different than standard look.

-Click the notices tab. Uncheck it all if you do not want emails send to your email
account. I unchecked it all since I don’t need more emails. I have enough of those
already.

Are you happy with the look of it?
If not you can come back later and change it.

-Click the Home tab at the top of the page.
On the right hand side do a little search for your niche and follow a few users. A few
will do for now.

These are a few ways that I use to drive traffic to my site from Twitter:

1. I tweet with links to my pages. I tweet (auto tweet with tweetlater.com) about every 2 hours 1 tweet, 24/7.
You have to find what works best for your audience.

2. Every so often I upload an image to Twitpic.com and people click on my Home Page link on twitpic.
Twitpic uploads a link to the image and your text as a tweet to twitter.

3. Every time I update my site my SBI blog is being updated and the RSS feed is “tweeting” for me.

I also have a “ask a question” content 2.0 page and ask people to ask me questions.
Once in a while someone asks a question and when I answer my blog is updated and the RSS feed automatically tweets it for me.
(This may take minutes or a few hours but it will appear).

I also ask for reviews and once in a while I receive a submission. That can only grow the more followers I have.

If your auto follow from twollo.com (and also the auto follow from tweetlater should be checked so that you auto follow everyone who follows you)
doesn’t provide enough members to follow, use more keywords. At this point in time I have an average of maybe 75-100 new followers daily.

Twitter is driving a nice steady growing stream of traffic to my site daily. It’s a little slower on weekends but still good.
My bounce rate of the traffic from Twitter is close to zero and most people stay for several minutes on my site.

I started with this Twitter automation 3 weeks ago and I am very happy with the results and
I am also happy with the nice increase in Adsense revenue.

It can only get better. The exposure is great.

Another “nice” gesture is to “retweet” which mean that if you think that someone’s tweet is so profound or amusing or otherwise remarkable,
you would retweet it to share it with others.

Reply to someones tweet and type RT in front of the tweet. The origional tweet will be “retweeted”.

Others will do the same for you and you have greater exposure to a larger audience,
especially if someone retweets your tweet who has thousands of followers.
